Orientation week

(13th-19th September 2010)


We hope to see you at our Free Welcome Meals on Tuesday and Wednesday evening 7pm. A free dinner and the opportunity to meet friendly locals. 

Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th at Fisherwick Church Halls.


On Tuesday 13th we have arranged shopping trips to a large out of town supermarket (Tesco).  Sign up at the Student Union


On Saturday 17th we have arranged shopping trips to Ikea, ethnic supermarkets & Tesco.  Sign up at the  Welcome Meals or the International Student & Postgraduate Centre. 


Shopping trips depart from Student Union steps.

Welcome Week

(19th-25th September 2010)


During welcome week we organise an International Student Cafe called iCafe in the snack bar of the Student Union.  From 7:30-9:30pm each day there is a free special event to introduce you to local culture.  Its a great way to make new friends both local & international.




Join us from 2-4pm for informal Sports meet at the snack bar of the Student Union.





Drop in to iTalk afternoons 2-4pm to practice your spoken English with locals the snack bar of the Student Union.

Friday - World Quiz Night


Trip to the Giants Causeway

(Sat 24th Sept)


Join us on our bus trip to the Giants Causeway & Dunluce castle to learn some of the ancient myths of the North Coast.  You can buy your ticket (£10) at the Welcome meals or at iCafe.  Bring a packed lunch, camera, comfortable shoes and a rain jacket - we can’t guarantee the weather!

International Student Welcome Service


All our volunteers are Christians from the Christian Union or local churches.  On Sunday the 25th September, 10:45am we have arranged a Welcome service at one of our local churches.  Every one is welcome, you don’t have to be a Christian to come along.  It is a great opportunity to discover some of Northern Irelands Christian heritage.  Meet outside the Student Union 10:30am to walk together.  After the service there will be an a buffet lunch where you can meet local families.
